Follow me whilst I embark on a 3 month Wellness Challenge (Project Reset) to become the strongest I’ve ever been Psychologically, emotionally and physically. It’s going to be a journey of self kindness, dedication and self development. There will be highs and lows but it is a challenge that I’m ready to take on to become the best version of myself!
So what does it entail?
Let me tell you…
1. THREE WORKOUTS EACH DAY
The first workout will consist of a morning walk followed by a home workout of strength and resistance training using the YouTube workout guides. In the afternoon I’ll be going for an hour long walk and then one more shorter walk in the evening.
2. 30 MINUTES OF YOGA
Yoga has been on my to-do list for a long time now so it’s about time I give it a go. I want to do this every morning when I wake up to help wake my body up and stretch out any aches and pains. I want to aim to become more flexible this year so I think yoga is a nice start!I’m going to be doing the Yoga by Adriene Breath – 30 Day Yoga Journey on YouTube.
3. 20 MINUTES OF MEDITATION
Not only do I want to be physically stronger, I want to be psychologically and emotionally stronger. I want to be able to have a calm mind that can tackle the chaos of every day life. I want to be able to manage and deal with difficult emotions and become a more resilient person. Meditation will allow me to bring more awareness to my mind and body.
4. READ 1 CHAPTER OF A SELF DEVELOPMENT BOOK
Self development is a key part to my everyday life and I want to continue this into 2021. Personal growth and gaining new knowledge is extremely important to me and has shaped the person I’ve become so far. Don’t get me wrong with having depression reading can sometimes be difficult as my concentration wavers but I think 1 Chapter a day is manageable.
5. LISTEN TO A PODCAST
Just like reading listening to podcasts are a great way to grow as a person and develop your knowledge of a wide array of topics. Topics that I’m particularly keen to stay tuned for this year are: Fitness, Nutrition and Self growth.
6. GRATITUDE JOURNAL
It’s so easy to get overwhelmed with negative emotions and life experiences that we forget about all the good things that happen in our lives. We forget about the small moments of happiness, the people that make us smile and the achievements that we make on a day-to-day basis, That’s why I’m going to start to document these small moments, these small wins in life and the memories that I make with the people that I love the most. Life is there to cherish!
7. EAT A BALANCED DIET
As they say moderation is key! I’m aiming for all the nutritious foods with a sprinkle of tasty treats. Food is there to enjoy, so let’s enjoy it all!
8. GET CREATIVE
Each day I’m going to get my creative mind into action and see where my imagination takes me. Whether this is through writing on my blog or writing poems, Colouring in or drawing or even making mood boards on pinterest.
I’ll keep you all updated on how I’m getting on throughout my journey. Hope this gives you some ideas for self development tips for the New Year.
